BVI’s Signature Cocktail
Every place you go has a signature cocktail.
In the British Virgin Islands it’s the Painkiller.
There are variations available like the Raspberry Thriller (which is REALLY good too) but at the end of the day the Painkiller is the one and only original.
Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke is home of the original Painkiller.
There’s no dock here so you basically just jump off the back of your boat and swim in – hence the Soggy Dollar$
Here’s the thing:
If you could drink a tropical experience, this would be it.
If your first experience with the Painkiller is in BVI, one sip will bring you right back here..
Pusser’s Painkiller Recipe
So you’re hosting a Christmas get together and you want to shake things up a bit this year.
Present the Painkiller to your guests as an interesting substitute for the traditional Eggnog.
That hint of coconut with the sweetness of pineapple will be COMPLETELY unexpected but undoubtedly well received.
The grated nutmeg …well just put’s it over the top.
2 oz Pusser’s Rum (more or less depending on your level of pain lol)
4 oz pineapple juice
1 oz cream of coconut
1 oz orange juice
fresh ground nutmeg
Shake all the liquid ingredients up.
Pour into glasses.
Sprinkle with nutmeg.
*You can also blend this with ice for a slushy brain freeze version!
Non alcoholic version is awesome too.
