Matilda Mia is a 16 meter (52 feet) Sailing Catamaran built by Lagoon in Bordeaux, France.
Even at her maximum carrying capacity of eight guests, plus two crew, Matilda Mia is roomy enough for all her guests to come together for a sumptuous long lunch or to find privacy in smaller groups—either forward on the deck seating area, in the spacious cockpit, in the bright and open saloon, or up on the flybridge with the Captain.
The four spacious guest cabins (3 with queen-sized beds, and one with single-sized bunk beds) come with en-suite heads and showers, reading lights, fans and USB power stations.
Each Guest cabin is also generously supplied with light and air from the outside through well designed, and strategically placed, hatches, windows, and portholes.
Matilda Mia comes fully equipped with a watermaker and generator and is run by 2 full time crew ensuring a relaxing and worry-free vacation. Designed with rich honey-colored wood tones throughout, and featuring clean modern lines and practical yet elegant appointments, Matilda Mia is a yacht of comfort and refinement.
Captain Peter Gibbons
Peter grew up surfing and diving the great southern and Indian oceans in Western Australia, his foray into Bluewater sailing was sailing a 55ft yacht from Darwin to Greece via the red sea when just 19.
Free diving, Sailing, Surfing, Paddling, Fishing and long distance ocean swimming are among his passions. A successful entrepeneur and business advisor,
Peter has owned various vessels and has explored the Indian ocean by boat extensively, Peter holds a RYA Yacht master Offshore certification and speaks English, Indonesian and Spanish.
First Mate Pia Pablo Fernandez
Born and raised in Chile, Pia has traveled the world by yacht and crossed many oceans. With a degree in ecotourism and her enthusiasm and passion for the environment and adventure, she developed her career in Chile, Australia and Africa in many different activities, but she fell in love with the ocean in her first sail adventure, helping a friend prepare and cross his catamaran from Tahiti to Tonga.
Since then, sailing and the life on board start a spark that in till today is part of her life. Later she join charter vessel Discovery to cross the north Pacific on kite surfing expeditions, delivered sailing Catamarans from Australia to Indonesia and sail from Queensland to the Maldives, on that crossing in whilst Bali she met her partner Peter.
